MENS SLOW PITCH SOFTBALL LEAGUE
2011 LEAGUE BY-LAWS
1. Maximum # of players on a team is 20.
2. Two new softballs will be used for each game.
3. The game will consist of 7 innings. An official game will be
5 complete innings, 4 ½ if the home team is leading.
4. Games will be played on Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday
nights, with time slots at 6pm 7pm 8pm and 9pm.
5. 12 run rule is in effect after 5 complete innings. 20 run
rule after 4 complete innings.
6. Two umpires will be used for each game.
7. No HOLIDAY or Holiday weekend games will be played during the
season. Memorial Day,Fourth of July and Labor Day.
8. Uniform Rule- Identical shirts- NO METAL SPIKES ALLOWED.
9. Maximum # of teams for Scheduling purposes is 25.
10. The # of games played during the season will not be less
than 24. Rain outs will be made up as scheduling permits. Canceled games are
not allowed. Please use the swap rule.
11. Trophies and or Photo plaques will be awarded to the
Division Winners and Playoff Champs. $125 Will be given to each
playoff winner and division champion.
12. The season will normally begin on the Wednesday following
Memorial Day depending on the # of teams registered.
13. A team may start a game with 9 players. No out is recorded
in the 10th spot and a player may enter that spot at anytime. The extra hitter
and designated hitter may be used in any game. You can bat 12 and 10 players
can play defense. Remember, if you
start with 12 players, you must finish with 12 players unless the loss of one
player is the result of an injury and NOT an EJECTION. You must have at least 9
players at ALL times.
14. Weather permitting; the Play Offs will start the last week
in August.
15. Home Run Rule: Voted each year- 2010- A Division 5, B Division
is 3, Inter-division is 4, and C Division is 2.
16. Reentry- Per ASA rules And allowed at any time. NO COURTESY
RUNNERS ARE ALLOWED.
17. A foul ball on a two strike pitch the batter is out- The
batter starts with a one & one count.
18. An eligible player must be 18 years of age as of June 1st of
the playing year.
19. All games are flip games. In the playoffs, the team with the
best record is Home Team for games 1 & 3.
20. The OFFICIAL PLAYING SCHEDULE is posted on the “Complex”
bulletin board for changes and make up games.
21. Tie breaker rules for Playoffs…1. Best Division Record 2.
Head to Head record, 3.Total runs scored Head to Head.
22. Legal Bats….the league has adopted the ASA illegal bat list
which is posted on the Complex Bulletin Board. By majority vote of the effected
division, bats used in the league to be deemed dangerous may be added to the ASA illegal list.
23. NO ALCOHOLIC BEVERAGE OR GLASS BOTTLES ARE ALOWED INSIDE THE
FENCED IN PLAYING FIELD. Violation results in an immediate forfeit and the
player is suspended for 1 year from the date of the incident.
24. Forfeit Games- the team that forfeits is responsible for the
entire umpire fee. This fee must be paid before their next played game.
25. Rain outs- Posted on the Web Site www.softballcomplex.com
and on the phone answering system 499-1491 by 5pm on days of questionable
weather.
26. No player will be allowed to play in a game without having
signed the official team roster/hold harmless agreement. Any player who plays
and who has not signed, the team will forfeit the game.
27. Any team that plays a game without FULL payment of the entry
fees-Game is a forfeit.
28. Any CHANGES to the rules and bylaws require a 2/3rds vote of
the current league managers.
